Hi everyone,
I want to share the 4 tools that boosted my productivity and motivation at work. During the day more than %80 percent of my time I’m working on my computer and it’s becoming a bit distractive. You see something in the news, you lost yourself in the e-mails or in a number of the tabs you open on your browser. I was trying to eliminate these distractions and increase my productive time. I would like to share some of the things that find useful and worked for me.
1) Wunderlist
Together with my teammate, we have started to use Wunderlist to follow our daily and weekly to-do list. I was using it in my personal life before but at work, it’s really helpful. You can add new to-do items, assign them, set a due date and etc. It’s great that it automatically synchronize to all your devices and all users in the to-do list group.

2) Momentum
Momentum is a wonderful extension for Google Chrome. It’s really easy to set up and use. It asks your main motivation and presents it with a beautiful design and a quote. It has some other good features but I let you explore it.

3) Forest
Stay focused and be present.
This is the motto of this app and extension. This is a great tool for keeping you stay focused in a pleasant way. Whenever you want to focus, you are planting a virtual tree. The tree will grow in the following time. If you leave this app on your phone or if you open one of the websites that you have blacklisted before, the tree will be killed. You can keep building your forest every day, every single tree represents your focused time. Good thing here, if you feel more satisfied with having a real forest rather than a visual one, Forest team partners with a real-tree-planting organization, Trees for the Future, is planting real trees on the earth. When users spend virtual coins they earn in Forest on planting real trees, Forest team donates our partner and create orders of planting.

3) Ecosia
If you love the nature, you will love this one too. Ecosia is a web search engine like google but it has a distinctive feature. It is the search engine that plants trees with its ad revenue. You can get the free browser extension and use Ecosia every time you search. You can plant trees while you search the web. On average you need around 45 searches to plant a tree! Although search results are not as good as Google for Turkey, I’m using it nearly for a month and I have done 316 searches, which means I have planted 7 trees. I’m asking you guys which one of us normally plant trees in each month? It’s worth to try, I’m sure you will get used to it.

That’s all for today, have a great and productive day.
